• MS ISO 9001:2000 Certification
  The MS ISO 9001:2000 Certificate was first confered to the university on 24 December 2002 by SIRIM QAS International. The university was recertified in 2005. The present certification is valid until 23 December 2008.
   
• Reader’s Digest Trusted Brands Award
  In May 2007, University of Malaya was the sole university in Malaysia to win the gold award for Reader’s Digest Trusted Brands program under the catagory "University". This award was repeated in 2008.
   
• The Malaysian Book of Records
  The university is recognised in the Malaysian Book of Records as the first Public University to be awarded MS ISO 9001:2000 Certification encompassing all the ten core processes of the university.
